How to hang our guitar wall mount: a step-by-step installation guide

how to mount guitar hanger to wall installation guide

Introduction

The following step-by-step installation guide was designed and written to safely and securely hang our Studio Collection Guitar Wall Mount. Our premium guitar hanger is easy to install and features everything you need for mounting your guitar on the wall except basic tools. To complete installation of our guitar hanger, you'll just need a large phillips screwdriver and a power drill with an 1/8" (3mm) drill bit if you're mounting to a wall stud. In this case, we always recommend using an electronic stud finder.

Our guitar hangers include an installation guide, stainless steel mounting screws, and extra-strength drywall anchors (if you're unable to screw into a wall stud).

Step 1

Remove the flexible logo cover to reveal the mounting channels. Hold the guitar hanger up to your wall at desired mounting location. Carefully mark the two screw holes in the centers of both mounting channels as shown. For wall stud installation through drywall, use a stud finder to confirm the exact center of your wall stud.

Installation Height: We recommend mounting approximately 66-76’’ (167-193cm) above the floor. Double check by holding your guitar up to the wall and visibly marking your ideal height.

Step 2

For wall stud installation: Use a power drill with 1/8’’ (3mm) bit to pre-drill both holes straight into wall approx. 1.25’’ (3.2cm) deep.

For drywall-only installation: Use a large phillips screwdriver to slowly screw each anchor straight into the drywall until flush with the wall surface. Do not overtighten. Do not pre-drill holes for anchors as they are designed to screw directly into drywall.

Step 3

Use a medium-sized phillips screwdriver to slowly thread each screw through the guitar hanger into the drywall anchors or pre-drilled holes. It should be firmly secured to the surface of the wall and should not feel loose or wobble. Test installation by carefully hanging your guitar just under the headstock at the string nut. Your guitar should hang straight down. Adjust installation as needed.

For guitars with symmetrical headstock shapes, make sure the guitar hanger is mounted straight/vertically before tightening the screws.

For guitars with asymmetrical headstock shapes, the body is designed to swivel to allow your guitar to hang safely. To check the correct mounting angle, we recommend you initially tighten the screws until the guitar hanger swivels with medium resistance. Once you confirm the correct mounting position that safely supports your guitar and allows it to hang straight down, you should then fully tighten the screws.Strumland Guitar Wall Mount Step by Step Install

Step 4

Replace the flexible logo cover by firmly pressing directly over both tabs until the cover is flush with the body. Rock on.
